Here at EcoStreet we’ve been testing natural sunscreens. These are our favourites.

Yaoh Organic Hemp Seed Oil Sun Block comes in SPF15 and SPF30 and smells utterly delicious. Both options combine the protective, moisturising and rejuvenating qualities of hemp oil with the least damaging chemical sunblocks to produce a safe, protective lotion that is vegan, and free from parabens, harmful substances and unnecessary chemical additives. £9.95 for a 240ml bottle. Available directly from Yaoh.

Badger SPF15 Sunblock is a thick, yummy smelling cream offering good broad spectrum UVA-UVB protection. It lasts well in water (up to 40 minutes) and is 100% natural. £11.99 for a 82g tube from Hejhog or from Waitrose supermarkets.

Caribbean Blue Sunshield Sport SPF15 is a water resistant natural sunblock that protects against UVA and UVB rays. It is available from There Must Be A Better Way at £10.95 for 120ml.

Aloe Pura Organic Aloe Vera Sun Lotion SPF25 is a light, non-greasy sun lotion. As well as giving good protection against UVA and UVB rays, it is a soothing and hydrating lotion with anti-oxidant properties. £10.99 for 200ml from Waitrose or online from Planta.

Edelweiss Sun Lotion SPF15 with Tan Accelerator is made by Green People. It gives great sun protection while also accelerating the natural tanning process with an extract of the carob tree. Available from Green People at £15.99 for 200ml.

… and two great after sun lotions: Aloe Pura Organic Aloe Vera After Sun Lotion (£5.99) and Yaoh Hemp After Sun (£6.95).
