CleanTogether is a really cool site that Nikki brought to my attention last week. It encourages you to go out and enjoy nature, but clean up a little extra (i.e. not just your stuff) before you leave. Weigh what you’ve cleared up and publish your story and rubbish data at CleanTogether to encourage others to do the same. Member of the CleanTogether site (free to join) have already collected 405lbs of rubbish. You can help make it more.
CleanTogether also have a Facebook group that you can join.

I hope you considered reusing those bottles before you recycled them.
This sounds like a great idea for everyone that enjoys nature and wants to keep it beautiful. I have participated in river and trail cleanups before, and it can be a great time for the whole family. Seeing dumpsters filled with trash instead of littering the landscape is a great feeling.

Hope you’ll check out our new website, LayZgreenPeople.com. Our belief is that Tree-Huggers, Corporations, and the Government are not going to save our Planet, we ALL have to do our part. The premise is that alone, it might not feel like much to save a paper cup and drink from a mug for your daily coffee, but if MILLIONS of other people do it, NOW we’re making an impact.

I almost always pick up some trash when I go for a walk on the beach. I just wish there was a dumpster a bit closer to the beach. My kids get embarrassed walking with me when I am carrying a bushel of junk.
