Being an avid composter, this article by Marion Owen really appealed to me. From now on I will be composting wool socks, old leather gardening gloves, pencil shavings, toenail clippings, wooden toothpicks, stale bread, old pasta, dead bees and flies, and wee from my toddler’s potty. Penney Poyzer, of No Waste Like Home fame, gave birth to a daughter last week and took her placenta home to compost it.

” The placenta would only have been incinerated and what a waste of goodness that would have been!” said Penney.

In an interview with grownupgreen, Penney talks about her natural birth, and how she and husband Gil Schalom will be ensuring that daughter Jasmine grows up green.
