After some online education I have no doubts whatsoever that our babies deserve a chemicals free mattresses. Recently, the chemicals present in baby mattresses were linked with cot deaths of young babies - not surprising, as they are the most vulnerable ones. But even if our organisms are much more resistant, we also absorb those toxins and accumulate in our bodies and this is never positive for our health.

[...] One of the biggest joys in life is having a child, and one of the biggest responsibilities is protecting your child from the many dangers life has to offer. A mattress for your child is not one of the things that will have you worrying late into the night, but mattresses according to Eco Street are stuffed with polyurethane and other chemicals. There are alternatives and The Natural Mat Company makes 100% chemical free mattresses that consist of natural latex foam, mohair, horsetail hair and lambswool. The mats cost a little more than standard mattresses but they also have a lot of benefits. Air circulates easily through the natural material as we all know babies are very temperature sensitive so the circulation is a major benefit. It also helps prevent dust mites and other bacteria that might affect your babies sinuses. The mats also offer a natural spring instead of foam and are a lot more durable. [...]
