I really support this kind of campaign. If all the world change their lights to Eco lights, it will give a huge positive impact to energy conservation and green house gas emission.

@Maria: at the moment (i.e. until LED’s are more widespread and more affordable) you can have your CFL’s safely recycled by Ikea in the UK and US, and Pick n Pay in South Africa. The great thing about CFLs is that they last for years, so you shouldn’t have to recycle too often.

What to do with the bulbs & their mercury content after use? that is the question????
Why aren’t we hearing about LED lights which are supposed to be harmless- but expensive- would someone in the know let me know please!

I think the light bulbs are really cool. I also wonder if they are available in the U.S. Energy efficient bulbs are a nice start for people just becoming eco-friendly, and they save money in the long run.

I also wrote an article on my news and lifestlye blog- GreenVitals.net -that I think people might also find useful. The artcile is called Do-It-Yourself Home Energy Sanving Tips. It has advice about cheap things that people can do to cut major cost in their homes, like buying an insulating jacket for a water heater. I don’t sell stuff on my site, just free advice. It’s worth taking a look at.

These are just beautiful. I have eco lights, there is so much which can be done in terms of design and mood. I have reviewed quite a lot of different eco lights at http://www.ecotrendspotter.com but i have not yet got round to doing these ones. one item for the eco trend spotter team to review.

Exactlyu what I need to replace those damned mock flame bulbs in my dining room chandelier! Not something I will use in every socket, but certainly a blessing for those places where the naked bulb is visible, even if through stained glass.
