As Chief Engineer of the largest Platinum LEED office tower in NYC (1111 6th Ave) better know as the Bank of America Tower at One Bryant Park, I'd like to chime in and say that’s one awesome picture!! I envy this project. It's absolutely stunning!

Looks awesome. I think solar energy is going to go mainstream soon. It won’t be long before there is cost parity with conventional fuels. Then it will explode.

Like John Evans observed previously, this is some very wise engineering. I'm heartened to see more and more green architecture taking hold across the world. We need to be smarter about how we use urban space, and the idea of building renewables into the cityscape like this project does is part of where we need to be headed as a species.
Nature wastes nothing, and natural life exists in such a way as to make its environment more hospitable to it's continuity. This is one big example of how human life - now so very far from natural - can begin to re-learn that lesson.

Such a beautiful building - let's hope that someday very soon all buildings will generate some or all of their power needs.

Very nice post, this a fantastic stadium, and for me is the right way to think, i really think that future stadiums anywere in the world must have some kind of renewable Energy attached ! Solar Power and architech meets and forms a unique beautiful stadium . Thanks for sharing

Thanks for the comment Siel, I was unable to find the original source for these images, they come from the deputydog blog's coverage of the stadium. http://deputy-dog.com
