It has been announced by the Scottish environment minister, Ross Finnie that every secondary school pupil will have the opportunity to hear Al Gore’s “powerful message” about the dangers of climate change.
The screenings of the An Inconvenient Truth in Scottish schools is being sponsored by ScottishPower, and may be the start of a new wave of environmentalists as children are made aware of the true scale of what global warming means to the planet and to their futures.
“The film, which is very well put together, is not only a powerful message – it’s also been put together in a very easily understandable way. And Al Gore is not just a former vice-president. I think he’s established in his own right an international reputation as a very powerful advocate on environmental matters.” Ross Finnie, Scottish Environment Minister
