I'm very pleased to come across quality vegetables at reasonable prices, and be able to put my money into the pockets of those who really need it, and not just another supermarket chain.
I had no idea you existed, until I read the article published in the Cape Times 11.11.11.
I will definitely be purchasing your veges, and will tell others about you.

Really great post. Man, do those vegetables look great. It's so hard to find veggies in America that look anywhere near as good as those do. Really inspiring article and hopefully they are able to make a living off of it.

[...] One way to take charge of the food that you eat is to grow your own, but the truth is that not everyone has the spare time or inclination to do that. There are alternatives. If you live in Cape Town you could join the Slow Food Cape Town CSA (before 30th June 2009). Or order an organic veg box from Abalimi Bezekhaya. [...]

@Warren: Thanks for asking. As all content on EcoStreet is published under a Creative Commons Attribution License, you are welcome to use any of the content on EcoStreet as long as you provide a link/credit.
@Pia: That fresh veggie smell was incredible.
@Marcus: I guess that allotments in the UK are a similar idea, although I think that most allotment society's don't allow the selling of produce.

Inspirational stuff. I wish there was something similar to this in the UK. I feel like the family boxes would make a big difference in how many veggies people eat in a day. And farmers could count on more stable sales patterns.
