Ten-year old Kyle Counts has at least 39 toxic chemicals in his body. His sixteen-year old sister Kimbra has at least 37. And their parents have no less than 47 each.

The Counts family are part of a Star-Telegram research project testing for man-made chemicals found in homes and offices in members of the Tarrant County population. The study revealed that each one of the 12 test subjects was found to have traces of dozens of potentially harmful chemicals in their blood. The chemicals they are testing for include flame retardants in many car seat cushions and computer wires, pesticides in fruits and vegetables, and coatings often found in microwave popcorn bags and fast-food packaging, and stain-resistant fibres in carpets.

The results of the study showed:

n the 12 volunteers, the Star-Telegram study found:

Forty-nine chemicals known to cause or suspected of causing cancer.

At least 50 chemicals known to cause or suspected of causing developmental and neurological disorders, including birth defects and behavioral problems.

Trace amounts of 14 dioxins and related compounds. Dioxins are the most toxic substance regulated by the federal Environmental Protection Agency.

More than a dozen flame retardants, including one type that’s common in Europe but had never before been found in the blood of anyone living in the United States.

Health experts are still at a loss as to what this cocktail of chemicals could be doing to our bodies, but scientists generally believed that the build up of toxic chemicals in our bodies can weaken our chances of fighting off illnesses, and at high enough levels can even cause cancer, birth defects and developmental problems.

  • Being here in Dallas, I think I might need to post on this for the readers. This is crazy!!

  • You are a toxic cocktail from pollution in your parents genome

This is sad old news… it is also low ball numbers. After decades of the general public & congress ignoring EPA & Consumer
regulations… your children are a toxic cocktail from pollution in your system
    and the environment.

I personally have written and posted articles on this for years, as have many
    experts.
Please include "cited" GOV & Scientific articles
    like this to
give the public a better understanding of what a MAJOR, global problem we are
    facing.
    Here are a few:

    Seconds after exposure to
chemicals in consumer products, traces of these chemicals can be found in
nearly every organ in the body
. Fact as list old as dirt (EPA & CDC)…
    Cancer rates have increased
since 1901 from only 1 in 8,000 Americans, to 1 in 3 today! By the year 2010,
this disease will afflict 1 of every 2 individuals! —American Cancer Society
    Of chemicals commonly found
in homes, 150 have been linked to allergies, birth defects, cancer, and
psychological abnormalities.  —Consumer Product Safety Commission
A 2006 study by The National
Environmental Trust (NET)  - cited dangers of the “toxic cocktail” found
in the typical American home. Virtually all current cleaning products use
chemicals which are internationally recognized as toxic or hazardous by
current regulatory standards contributing to this “cocktail”.
    According to the National
Research Council, no toxic information is available for more than 80% of the
    chemicals in everyday-use products.
In the past 50 years more than 75,000 chemicals have been introduced into
the environment. Today 300 synthetic chemicals are found in the bodies of
humans. Even newborn babies have synthetic chemicals passed on from their
mothers. —REACH (Registration, Evaluation, and Authorization of Chemicals, a
    European Union program)
For every pound of neurotoxins, carcinogens, or reproductive or
developmental toxins released to the air, water, or land, another 42 pounds of
these chemicals were found in the same types of products used in or around the
    home .(ARB.gov)
The amount of toxic chemicals shipped in products likely to end up in
consumers’ homes is more than 40 times the amount of these chemicals released
    to the environment. (
    ARB.gov)

The EPA & DNR get only criticism not credit… After working with the EPA & DNR for nearly two decades, I can assure you our current problems would be
"catastrophic" on a "biblical" level had it not been for these
    extraordinary
    people
    (FETinc.org,

    EPA.gov
    ,
    ARB.gov,
    APWP.org, CDC.gov to name a few)
The general public and congress REALLY need to listen these people  for
    information of current  problems…
not the pseudo-science, pandemic problems scaring our children and stripping
    our economy of Billions.

    While

    "Al gore"

    and "Oprah"
may be the publics method of "understanding" Environmental
problems, it is a sad reality that they only personify ignorant "quick" fix
radical answers to relatively simple problems our generation can resolve if we
    want to
    listen to people we viable,
    realistic,  solutions…

"Global Warming", "GreenHouse" and CO2 problems are "down stream"
issues resulting from root causes not metioned in the popular media.
When we solve our "root causes" hazardous chemical & waste problems we stop
"Global Warming" AND save the lives of our children within our lifetime…
Hard to believe? Call me on it… or any EPA, DNR, Environmental Scientist
who have help reverse this cycle for two decades.

    We not only know
what were talking about, we have already PROVEN by decades projects
    ,
we have the systems in place to not only save America
    but also the world.

Thank you for publishing this important piece,
