Just saw this amazing link over on Celsius blog. It’s called The Breathing Earth and it’s a real-time simulation of births and deaths on the planet, along with the amount of CO2 being emitted every second, minute, hour. Well worth a look.

It is truly amazing. My 8-year-old son played with for hours and kept yelling out facts from it as I was cooking dinner. In fact he has some suggestions for improvements to it, such as increasing/decreasing the “population” tally for individual countries as births and deaths flash up. I promised him I’d email the creator and suggest it.
