Save The Ribble
Local community blog, campaigning to defend the River Ribble in Lancashire from plans to build a barrage across the river, and over 4000 houses in it's floodplain.
The River is of huge environmental significance, supporting many endangered species of fish and wildfowl which will be at risk if the development goes ahead.
Residents also fear that a barrage would greatly increase flood risk to their homes.
Time for our councils to listen!

the climate 'extremist'
Flying will soon be the biggest contributor to global warming of all so I refuse to travel by air. As a result of this stance, a friend accused me of being 'an extremist'. My aim is to encourage like-minded responsible citizens to help make this no-fly stance not 'ex-treme', but mainstream. People who fly for frivolous reasons (like tourism) are killing the future, not just for my kids, but for everyones.
