In this short feature I would like to discuss what I consider to be a staple essential to a baby’s wardrobe. Baby gowns made from pure organic cotton. As in all things there are fashions in baby wear and a few years ago babies seemed to be mainly wearing cotton towelling baby-grows in various colours. At present we seem to be seeing a revival of interest in traditional styles of clothing and baby gowns are practical and look cute.
Organic cotton feels so beautifully soft against a baby’s skin. A gown makes nappy changing so easy and is light and comfortable for baby to wear. Little legs can kick freely and most gowns have integral scratch mitts. One size fits up to six months, so no worries about small toes being cramped as baby grows. When the weather is warm all that is needed underneath is a nappy if it is cold add a vest underneath and a little jacket on top. It is really so simple to ensure that baby is at the right temperature for comfort. It is little wonder then with all these things going for them that baby gowns are the new” must have” items for small babies.

She is the cutest baby.The outfits are really neato.
I have always loved dressing my children in baby gowns when they were tiny. These were the first outfits they wore after birth and in the first few days. It seems to be more comforting to them and cozy and yes, does make for easier diaper changes.

How lovely – you have just reminded me how little and cute and cuddly my babies were (they are now 7 and 9 and don’t always want the huggles anymore). I have kept both christening gowns and they are still in good condition. Not sure if they will last for my kids kids! Lets see.
