Toyota unpopular in Fresno, California

You may not like it if someone called your town a low budget, tourist stop, ghost town. That’s what Toyota said about Fresno in a Prius ad that was only aired on the East Coast of the US. But after the ad had a good innings on Digg, Fresno residents got to see it too. And they complained. So a senator wrote to the president of Toyota, and apologies came gushing forth. Toyota is so mortified at the offence they’ve caused, they’re even considering opening a new plant in Fresno, and creating thousands of jobs for Fresno residents.

Here’s the offending ad.
